A mind is a terrible thing to waste.  Have you ever heard this? Ok, what about this, “This is your brain – this is your brain on drugs.”  Do you remember the commercial that came out in the 80’s?  Take a look at the video below.

How about the one that came out in the 90’s?

Ok that was the extended version and that was funny as I don’t know what … but the bigger point here is that we have been led to believe that drugs are a bad thing for brain.

This post is not to negate that premise, this post is to look at what is really going on this country.

Drugs are a problem, but we are led to believe it is only street drugs that are the problem.  No it’s all drugs.  I know that is a big statement, so lets clarify with a definition of what drugs are.

Definition of drug

This definition makes me have to revisit my previous statement.  All drugs by definition are not bad.  Prescribed drugs and synthetically created drugs are bad.  Drugs that have properties or ingredients pulled from other chemicals or ingredients which have been changed from their original intended use are also bad.

With that being said, by definition, something habitual that creates “a marked change in consciousness”.  This helps me to understand how things other than “drugs” can be considered a “drug”.

You have to be very careful of the usage of drugs in your life, all drugs, can change your consciousness.  The whole idea of prescription drugs are to change your consciousness under the guys of fixing an ailment.  But if the same ailment and more can be caused by the prescribed drug then why are you taking it?

This is the reason this post is called on your mind. From a common sense standpoint this makes no sense, what is on your mind.  You have to look into these drugs, what’s in these drugs, what company is making said drug, what is the best remedy for any issues you may have.

Your mind is very smart and it is well able to take in all of the information you can give it and process which route is a better one for the long term. Long term is the only thing that should be on your mind.   Any short term thought on you mind should only be there to be a step in the direction of the long term thought.

The commercials at the opening of this post are commercial brought to you by the Partnership for a Drug-Free America.  So the government partnered to create these anti-drug campaigns but on the other side partnering with the pharmaceutical companies to get you hooked on their drugs.

Just know this is a tangled web that has been weaved but you have to keep knowledge on your mind and common sense on your mind as tools to navigate your way through the tangled web.

Hit the comments below with your thoughts about this drug epidemic.  I want to make sure everyone has the right thought process to even see the web.  You know a spider web is transparent until you shine a little light or sprinkle a little water on it.
