Who is Better than You, Boo?!!

While reflecting the other day, I was reminded of the importance of honoring yourself for who you are. Who WE are as individuals. It is so easy to get caught up in all that we aren’t that we lose sight of ALL we are. So may the words below be reminder. An affirmation…

There is no better you than YOU.

You are the best YOU there is and ever will be.

You are you like no one else.

Unique, no copy, just be yourself.

There is no one like YOU.

While some may try, none will succeed because they are them, they are not YOU.

Mine could never compare to yours and yours could never compare to mine because we are different… and that, dear one, is fine.

Give yourself permission to be the miracle that you are – YOU.

*now put on a drop of Valor and go seize the day, with your you BEing YOU self 😉

**My family and I submitted a video to be ambassadors for Cancun.com through their CEOSearch. Check out our video, cast a vote for us and share with a friend. This is an opportunity of a lifetime that we would be thrilled to be a part of. Votes can be submitted one time a day until 12/24. We would appreciate you vote.

what exactly comes to your mind when you hear the word. the channel, the movies, the actors, the theme parks, the music, the fairytale. whatever it is you think about, i think both you and i know that Disney is an empire. everything that Disney does is on purpose and is extremely intricate. i am saying all of this to simply say… “WHAT THE HECK!” every single time i get pulled into the Disney wormhole, that is all i can say.

specifically, i am referencing the connection between all of the cartoon Disney movies. apparently, they are all connected in some way and that this was also done ON PURPOSE by the creators. can you believe that? because i can. i have no choice, all of these “theories” about the connections are extremely convincing and i believe them every single time. it all makes so much more sense this way. i am definitely not going to go into all the details or even the minor things about how all of the movies are connected because it is much to detailed and tedious to describe it all, but i know if you read the theories you will believe it, too.

because, honestly, isn’t that the purpose of Disney? to make you believe….

and, wait there is more! the Pixar movies do the exact same thing! so i’ll include links to those theories as well.

check out these sites that give seriously convincing arguments as to how some of the cartoon Disney movies are connected:

Three Skills Magnified Since Living Abroad

We have been living within the land mass of Costa Rica for right at 3 months. To say that this experience has been without frustrations would be an untruth. For me to pretend there have not been moments when we wanted to ‘just go back home’ would be a disservice to myself and my loyal readers. [sn: where is home? we sold everything… where would we go back to?]

But for the times of frustration and the few moments that we wanted to return to what WAS our norm, we have many more occasions that make our decision well worth it. Each day we are actualizing our best selves and that makes this journey priceless on so many levels.

Three skills that I know have been enhanced in me are:

Patience is defined as the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.

Read that definition again, a little slower...

Being patient in an unknown land, with unknown people, who speak a foreign tongue can be frustrating and contribute to one getting angry or upset. However, getting angry or upset is not going to change the situation. In all actuality, it will make it worse. And being that I want others to be patient with me, why not demonstrate the same. If you are planning to live or travel abroad, adorn yourself with patience, it is a great asset.

Openness is essentially a lack of restriction. There are so many beautiful lessons that can be learned, so many wonderful sites to see and countless discoveries you can find about your self when you are open – free of ridiculous restrictions. There is more than one way to peel a carrot and even more ways to live life full. Be open to exploring all the goodness GOD has made available through creation and other cultures – whether it is finding peace in the cool breeze that flows through a screen free window or adjusting to wiping and trashing instead of wiping and flushing. Don’t restrict your life because you are not open to see LIFE for a different perspective. GOD is always speaking and when we are open and in-tune with HOLY SPIRIT we are able to hear clearer and our vision is enhanced. Be sure and pack some openness and put it in all your bags so you can grab it easily on the journey.

Grace, grace, grace! Who doesn’t need courteous goodwill or simple decency and tact?!?! Being gracious and kind is so key. Trust… the same way I may get frustrated because I am not able to fluently speak the language, others get frustrated because they do not understand what it is I am trying to communicate. So in these moments when grace is extended, we both feel at ease. We regroup and, then take it slow. The POWER and BEAUTY of GRACE is wonderful.

While, extending grace to others remember showing yourself grace is necessary. Don’t beat yourself up. Love yourself where you are, with grace, because you are getting better. Never leave home without grace for yourself and others.

As we keep living we will encounter challenges but with patience, openness and grace we can overcome them. Being content and having peace in whatever state we are in, whatever country (the states or otherwise) is a huge factor. And shout-out to our brother Paul for demonstrating this.

Costa Rica has given me many tranquil moments that have allowed me to find and know that inner peace. Where ever I go, what ever I do I know what peace looks and feels like.

I already know that many of my people back in the States have misconstrued ideas about my new location (Costa Rica). One of the main things is that I live in a hut, I don’t have internet, etc etc.

I will put these ideas to rest: I live pretty much the same as I did in the US. While I don’t have a car here and I’m not fluent in the language everything else is pretty much the same with minor differences. Soooooo, now that I’ve cleared that up, another thing that no one thought was here… MALLS. There are shopping malls here and I have to say they are much better than the malls in North Carolina. The Alajuela City Mall has like four floors and hospitals underneath it with parking garages, plus outdoor restaurants and shops. They have car dealerships in this mall, tattoo shops, a food court, nail and hair salons, and all the regular clothes, handbag, shoe and accessory shops. Even though they have all of these shops and stores I am always surprised when they have these huge Forever 21’s everywhere. At another mall I went to they had the two story Forever 21 and I am just like “YES” every time I see one. Although Forever 21 seems to be overwhelming with all of the colors and choices, I always know that any Forever 21 store is up to date on all of the latest fashion trends around the world. So while I was at the mall this time, I took pictures in this Forever 21 of the clothes and the store setup just to give my fam back in the states an accurate representation of what we got cookin up in Costa Rica.

These are just a couple of pieces I saw and thought were super cute and I just had to add them!!

Their selection of shorts is unlimited!!

I have been wanting a cute pair of overalls like this for the looongest. I didn’t get them, but soon young grasshopper.

It was so clean in this Forever 21. Usually at the stores in the US everything is everywhere and no one knows where anything is and ugh it is terrible, but here it is impeccably organized.

Everybody here has fanny packs I have never seen so many in my life.

This was pretty much the setup of the store and I loooved it!
