In this age that we live in everyone is seeking something – happiness, peace, financial stability, health, love… you name it. The interesting thing is we already have all of these things, so looking in places outside of ourselves to find them will only lead us on a wild goose chase. The key is to find wholeness within one’s self. Whole is defined as being in an unbroken or undamaged state; in one piece; entire, complete, full, uninjured, unharmed. If we are whole we are what we need because we are complete.

Wholeness is mind, body and spirit [May the God who gives us peace make you holy in every way and keep your whole being—spirit, soul, and body—free from every fault at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.Thessalonians 5:23 GNT]. Each of these aspects should be insync in order for there to be harmony and in essence completeness. If any aspect is out of whack it affects the whole.

When we think about wholeness from a health perspective (body) an example of this would be the mind-body connection. The cells in our bodies are so intuitive that they are aware of our thoughts. If we are constantly thinking negative thoughts, then our body will perform negatively. Have you ever noticed that if you don’t feel good, the more you think about how bad you feel and say how bad you feel, the worse you actually feel? Imagine if you decided to ‘think yourself happy’ how do you think your body would begin to perform? Dr Caroline Leaf shares an interesting statistic in her blog on toxic thoughts, “75% to 95% of the illnesses that plague us today are a direct result of our thought life.” I am sure some of you are saying – well I can’t think this cold away or how can my thoughts eradicate cancer. It is not about wishing anything away, it is about changing your thoughts toward a situation and allowing your mind, body and spirit to be healed. There are many people who receive a crummy diagnosis regarding their health but they choose to live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment. In doing this their mind is free from stress, their body (whether they are ‘cured’ or not) is able to perform efficiently and their spirit is abounding. In essence they are living WHOLE.

As you walk your journey, remember that you have a choice everyday – overcome or succumb.

Your thoughts and your words are affirmations that will come to life. Speak well of your self, even when others are not. After every doctor’s appointment take time to get quiet, meditate and pray. Speak life over your mind, body and spirit.

Here are a few affirmations that may be helpful in renewing your thought-life:

  • Every day in every way I am getting healthier and healthier and feeling better and better.
  • I am full of energy and vitality and my mind is calm and peaceful.
  • I think only positive thoughts and am always happy and joyous, no matter what the external conditions are.
  • I express my deep gratitude to God and everybody in my life. I am aware that I am incomplete without you all and thank you all for coming into my life.
  • Good health is my birth right. I bless my body daily and take good care of it. (Eat more fruits and vegetables. Eliminate sugars, meats and processed foods from your diet)
  • I treat my body as a temple. It is holy, it is clean and it is full of goodness. (Pay attention to what you fill you mind, body and spirit with. Is it goodness??)

Say this AND DO THIS —>>> I eat healthy, nutritious food that benefits my body and large quantity of water that cleanses my body.

We will continue to travel the journey of wholeness together – learning how to heal our mind, body and spirit.

In love,
